Nadine Whitehall is a survivor. Having forged her death, she seeks a new beginning far from the violent home she left behind.

When her car brokes down near the town of Paradise Mountains, she is nearly at the end of her rope. She is tired, scared and almost broke. When a gentle old man offers to help her, she decides to accept and uses this as an oportunity to find herself, discover who she truly is. 

The townspeople are friendly but Nadine isn't able of freeing herself from the nightmares of her past. Alexander Henderson is the town's sheriff. All of his instints are screaming at him to protect the newcomer, but how can he, when she doesn't seem able of telling him the truth?

But the past has a way of interfering with the present, and soon, Alexander finds himself racing against time to save the only woman he will ever love.
